Description:

terrestrial to 0.75 m. tall or pendent along road banks rooted in thick moss layer. corolla bright, dark red; mature berry dark purple, becoming terete. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

heavily disturbed premontane forest. locally common.
