Description:

shrub 1 to 2 m tall. floral bracts red; corolla red lower 3/4, yellowish-green upper 1/4;fruits dark green; immature.

Habitat:

sandstone outcrops with sterile, white sand overlying black sand; Ericaceae, Eriocaulaceae, Winmannia, Melastomes. common, little in flower.
