Description:

shrub or small tree to 10m., with a columnar form; bark vertically furrowed, gray, flowers white.
Habitat:

Small segment of natural forest at edge of area destoryed by mining operations. Open forest of Pinus occidentalis. Some areas replanted with Casuarina and Cynodon. serpentine. soil is lateritic with 2% nickel and 20% iron.
