Description:

Woody, rhizomatous, to 4 dm. tall. Flowers pink; fruits blue-black, dehiscent, somewhat fleshy; edible, but insipid.
Habitat:

Very open pine forest, bunch grass ground cover, area often in clouds. Frequent above ca. 2600 m.
