Description:

Shrubs ca 1.5 m tall; stems basally prostrate and arching, the branched apices erect; bark reddish/brown/orange.
Habitat:

Subalpine zone, principally above tree-line, vegetation dominated by Rhododendron, Betula and Sorbus.
