Description:

Subshrub, to 2 dm tall, deeply rooted and surrounded by mosses, on steep, wet slopes. Calyx green with red. Corolla red with white to red lobes. [Pickled; DNA].
Habitat:

Steep, highly disturbed slopes through cloud forest, dominated by Weinmannia, Clethra, Brachyotum, Ericaceae.
