Description:

Coarse, terrestrial shrub, somewhat scandent, branches to 2 m long. Corolla dark red with white lobes.

Habitat:

Steep roadsides through ceja de la montaña forest, with Weinmannia, Chusquea, Ericaceae, Myricaceae, Desfontainea, Araliaceae. Infrequent at ca. 3445 m.
