Description:

shrub to 1 m tall. leaves strongly bullate, concave; floral bracts green; rachis, pedi-cels and calyx pale green.
Habitat:

ecotone between cloud forest and páramo. locally common.

Collection Notes: calyx covered with a dense layer of ferrugineous strigose hairs; co-rolla bright red covered with ferrugineous strigos hairs; mature fruit purple
