Description:

Shrub, terrestrial, becoming scandent and sometimes lianoid. Leaves somewhat concave, curled and hiding the pedicels. Calyx green, heavily suffused maroon. Corolla bright orange, sometimes with white between the lobes (in the bistratose part). Locally common. [Pickled; photo; DNA].
Habitat:

Extremely dense shrub páramo, dominated by Ericaceae. Locally common.
