Description:

Shrubs in population blooming ahead of & with leaf emergence; young leaves ciliate, midrib hairy beneath.

Habitat:

Ruderal in powerline right-of-way, subject to periodic inundation. Assoc w/ Cyrilla, Clethra, Nyssa, Aronia.
