Description:

terrestrial shrub from large swollen burl, branches to 1.5 m long. pedicels and calyx reddish-orange; corolla lower 2/3 bright red; upper 1/3 dark green; throat white pilose within. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

steep slopes of Río Alambi valley; cloud forest. common.
