Habitat:

On rocks, sometimes on sand banks in river bed, at or above high water. May sometimes be partly or entirely submerged for a short time. Forms colonies or grows in dense thickets with other shrubs. (Ligustrum, etc.). Not found above 5000' probably not so high.
