Description:

Stuned trees 25 ft high with 1.5 ft thick stem; stem moss covered; wood hard, reddish, odorless and tasteless; branches widely spreading at the top, rigid, ultimately numerously rebranched, gray; the rigid coriaceous leaves flat, ascending, much darker and shining green on the upper side; inflorescent spike green, erect, the subpendulous crimson red corolla tapering; exposed twigs reddish.
