United States of America. New Jersey. Ocean Co. About 1 - 1 1/2 mi. w. of Warren Grove, NJ, Ocean co. Road west from # 539 at firehouse, taking right. Along crossroad part beyond end of pavement, both north and south. Along edge of pine-oak woods, creeping out in open areas.

Description:
Creeping shrub often half buried by leaves (mostly oak). Inflorescence terminal often below the moderately large leaves. New vegetative growth not yet really starte. Some flowers (red) present but msot had dropped the corolla on it was born.
