Description:

Terrestrial, from lignotuber. Branches pendant, leaves somewhat surrounding stem. Calyx lobes dark red. Corolla broadly, bluntly angled opposite lobes, green at extreme base, mostly red; the lobes green within, slightly spreading. Abundant. [Plants pretreated with EtOH.] [Photos; pickled].
Habitat:

Extremely steep roadside slopes through mattoral vegetation that is subject to periodic fires.
