Description:

Terrestrial shrub, ca. 1 m tall. Bracts green with red hue. Corolla red. Fruiting calyx blue-black.

Habitat:

Steep roadsides through ceja de la montaña forest, with Weinmannia, Chusquea, Ericaceae, Myricaceae, Desfontainea, Araliaceae. Common.
