Description:

small shrub 1 to 3 dm tall. leaves erect, clasping stem; inflorescence viscid; floral bract, pe-dicel, calyx & corolla red, pendent at anthesis.

Habitat:

grassy páramo and subpáramo slopes.

Other:

Collection Notes: fruit erect. Some mature calyces very fleshy completely spreading away from capsule (hybrid?) other mature calyces not succulent, hi- ding calyx (normal condition?)
