Location:

Brazil. Rio de Janeiro. Resende Mun. Itatiaia National Park. Near television relay tower on south face of Mt. Itatiaia on ridge that separates valleys of Rio Campo Belo and Rio Itatiaia. On slope just below tower. Alt. 1760 m. (5774 ft.)

Description:

Ericaceous shrub 1 1/2m tall. Corolla reddish-pink, urceolate, 7mm long, greatest diam. 5mm, mouth 1.5mm diam. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Formerly forest-covered, then clean-cut but not burned. Now a closed shrubbery 1-3m tall. Soil blackish-brown and humusy.
