Description:

erect shrub 0.5 m tall; bark thin, red, exfoliating. inflorescence hairs tawny; floral bracts green suffused with red; pedicels, calyx and corolla red.

Habitat:

montane cloud forest. common.

Collection Notes: fruits dark blue-black; young leaves and twigs with tawny pubescence
