Description:

gnarled shrub to 2.5 m. calyx green heavily suffused with purple; petals magenta; filament and style pale pink; anthers light yellow.
Habitat:

steep, windswept slopes dominated by Befaria, Gaultheria, and Melas-tomataceae and bracken fern. common, little in flower.
