    The current herbarium was initiated by the efforts and special interest of Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Vice Chancellor Women University Mardan. She invited Prof. Mary Barkworth for this inauguration and conducted a grand gathering with students and faculty that was attended by media personnel as well. The herbarium would collect plants from all over district Mardan and would certainly add to the current bank of biodiversity reports in Pakistan.
