    Taxonomic Coverage: AKDE has herbarium collection consisting entirely of seed plants. Most of the samples were collected from Antalya and its surroundings. In particular, within the scope of the Illustrated Flora of Turkey, there are herbariums collected from all over Turkey, collected by the authors of Orchidaceae.

  • Quarantine Requirements

    Before the specimens are accepted into the herbarium, they are kept at -18 Celsius degrees for two days. There is no chemical treatment in the herbarium.

  • Notes

    Entered February 2022. AKDE herbarium is the second herbarium established within Akdeniz University. It was established by biologist researchers working in the Faculty of Education. There are examples of plant species that distribute especially in Antalya and its surroundings. The endemism rate of the specimens is high in the herbarium. Besides, the majority of the specimens belong to the Orchidaceae family. It is fully open to sample exchange, especially the Orchidaceae Family.
