Geography: Districts Bannu, North Waziristan, Upper South Waziristan, Lower South Waziristan, and adjacent parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan.

Notes

BANNU was established to promote scientific study of the flora of the area traditionally known as Waziristan and now included in four districts ( Bannu, North Waziristan, Upper South Waziristan, Lower South Waziristan) and adjacent parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. This area has been poorly explored so little is known about the species present and their use by people in the area. Establishing the herbarium has assisted in engaging local students in learning about the flora. A long term goal is to develop a flora for the four districts. BANNU started sharing its records via OpenHerbarium (http://www.openherbarium.org) in the summer of 2019. It will be using tools in OpenHerbarium to develop a regional flora.
