    Entered Feb 2019. The herbarium of Jahangirnagar University, established in 1992 by Prof. A.B.M. Enayet Hossain (Retired), is currently maintained by the Plant Systematics and Biodiversity Laboratory of the Department of Botany. About thirty five thousand representative specimens of Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms collected from different areas of Bangladesh are currently deposited in this herbarium. This is the only one herbarium of Bangladesh which houses the specimens of almost all species of the mangrove forests of the country including the Sundarbans.
