    The herbarium consists of about 150 historic, rare sheets that might have served as the materials for Cooke’s flora (1903-08). The herbarium also has over 700 sheets that form materials for the campus flora collected chiefly by V. D. Vartak (the rest specimens collected from the Fergusson campus are currently at AHMA). The collections mainly include economic botany, and floristic explorations in hilltop forts around Pune, and several other miscellaneous specimens that form vouchers for many local floras are present.
