The Forestry Training Institute Olmotonyi is a technical institute that trains students at certificate and diploma in forestry who are expected to be involved in plant resources assessment/mensuration, and thus plant identification approaches have to be rooted at the herbarium, with local and international recognition. The herbarium will offer expertise to botanical researchers, permanent reference, short and long courses training offering in Tanzania, involving local and international groups. Sharing information among institutions of the world is among vital tasks of the herbarium.
