Entered Jul 2015. The Herbarium contains about 400 Endemic and 100 RED listed plant species. The Botanical library of the department is available to all researchers. TheLibrary includes over 5000 volumes of books including various district and state flora and several reprints of research papers. The Botanical Museum has collections of plant materials to demonstrate diversity of plant forms, rare fossil collections, algal and fungal materials. The Department is a recognized research centre of Mahatma Gandhi University, currently doing research in diversified advanced areas of plant research. The Botanical Garden that boasts of around 1000 species of plants with RET species and medicinal plants.
