    Entered Apr 2009. The Associazione Micologica Bresadola was founded in Trento, 7 December 1957. It was originally called "Gruppo Micologico G. Bresadola". This name derives from the Abbot Giacomo Bresadola, one of the most important mycologists. In 1987 the name was changed to "Associazione Micologica Bresadola". The aim of the Association is to bring together people who are interested in mycology and conservation of fungi. The Association carries on intense editorial, scientific, legislative and local activities. It cooperates with State, regions, and institutes on mycological subjects. The Association's Mycological Study Center administrates of the Bresadola Mycological Library; creation of a scientific data bank on census and indexing of fungal speciesand maintenance of a mycological herbarium and data bank for toxicological problems. The Association's Library contains about 2,200 books and 100 periodicals. The list of the books and the periodicals of the library is avaiable for download at the webiste. file The library contains also older literature including "Nova Plantarum Genera", 1729, by P.A. Micheli ( 234 pp., Firenze).
