    The Herbarium was established in 1968 and is registered in the Index Herbariorum, in the Netherlands - international headquarters. It is the depository of more than 60 thousand plants, mainly derived from a survey carried out by Flora of the States of Goiás and Tocantins - Rizzo Collection, which currently has 48 volumes published. In addition to attending other units of the UFG itself and several national and international research institutions, it serves as a support for the elaboration of theses and for the community, identifying medicinal, toxic and ornamental plants.
