Notes
Updated Dec 2013 (staffupdate). The regional collection, traditionally called "Rheinisches Herbar," has been curated by BONN since 1973, but was separated as an independent herbarium in 1998. The owner of the collection is the "Naturhistorischer Verein der Rheinlande und Westfalens," Nussallee 15a, D-53115 Bonn, Germany. The non-Rheinanian part of the herbarium, called "Ausserrheinisches Herbar" (210 000 specimens), was transferred to Berlin-Dahlem in 1936 (but kept outside, thus surviving the 1943 fire), taken to Russia by the Soviet army after World War II, returned in due course to East Berlin (BHU), and eventually reintegrated into B in 1993.
