Specialty

Taxonomic Coverage: The Herbarium CEN collection is rich in specimens of the Cerrado flora, and collections from the Caatinga and Amazon have also grown. The collection is considered one of the most representative in groups such as Arachis, Capsicum, Cuphea, Cyrtopodium, Diplusodon, Habenaria, Manihot, Mimosa, Paspalum and Stylosanthes. particularly rich in families such as Arecaceae, Asteraceae, Euphorbiaceae, Leguminosae, Lythraceae, Orchidaceae and Poaceae. Also noteworthy are economic plants and wild relatives of food, ornamental, medicinal, forest species, grasses and forage legumes.

Notes

The CEN Herbarium is fully informatized and has all the collection available online (see herbarium homepage above). All specimen images from the collection are available on Specieslink database. Since 2010, all the collections carried out by the staff of the Herbarium CEN are also accompanied by samples of leaves in silica gel that are sent when requested.
