  • Notes

Updated Feb 2016 (general update): The Freeman Herbarium recently relocated (in 2013) to a new building that houses the consolidated collections of the Auburn University Museum of Natural History. The herbarium is fully functional and available for specimen loans and exchanges. As the official state herbarium of Alabama, the focus of our 80,000 plus specimens is primarily Alabama and the southeastern United States, although through active exchange our representative holdings are growing worldwide. The Freeman Herbarium also houses the herbarium of the Alabama Mushroom Society,
