A small pimple-like eruption from the surface of part of a plant; e.g., from the hypanthium.

Notes
The pustules may be caused by fungal, bacterial, or viral infection. In Lecythis pittierii these pustules are found on nearly all of the colllections in the herbarium of NYBG.
