  A branch of a tree of Lecythidaceae to which the leaves are attached, i.e., the ultimate, leaf-bearing branch.

• Notes

  We consider trees of Lecythidaceae to be made up of different orders of branching. We call the first order the stem, the second order a secondary branch, the third order a tertiary branch, and the ultimate, leaf-bearing branch a twig.
