Definition
A placentation type in which the ovules are attached to laminae that run vertically through much of the ovary as seen in medial longitudinal section.

Notes
There are two laminae (septal unit head extensions) in each locule which are best seen in a cross section of the ovary.This type of placentation is found in Lecythidaceae only in species of Couroupita and the Lecythis pisonis clade.
