Calyx-lobes
-
Title
Calyx-lobes
-
Definition
The outermost whorl of floral parts and nearly equivalent to sepals. See the general glossary for definitions of calyx and sepals.
-
Notes
In Lecythidaceae, the term calyx-lobes is used because the flowers are inferior and the lower part of the sepals are fused to the ovary and thus the part that can be seen is a lobe of the entire sepal.
