Curved appendages

Title
Curved appendages
-
Definition
Referring to an appendage, most often a vestigial stamen, that arises from a non-expanded part of the ligule and curves slightly inward.
-
Notes
Curved inward appendages are not the same as the ligule or the hood being swept inward, in the latter type of ligule the appendages arise from an apical or subapical ligular expansion.
