Title
Bracteoles below articulation
-
Definition
Bracteoles inserted below the articulation in the pedicel/hypanthium continuum of Lecythidaceae.
-
Notes
In the New World Lecythidaceae, all species except those of the genera Gustavia and Grias have the articulation of their pedicels above the point of bracteole attachment. In some species, such there is considerable space between the bracteole attachment and the bract attachment and in other species the bracteoles and bract are attached at nearly the same point.
