Notes
In Lecythidaceae, this term usually refers to inflorescences that appear on the branches or trunk below the leaves. This type of inflorescence is also called ramiflorous if the inflorescences arise from the branches and cauline if they arise from the trunk. In other words, infrafoliar inflorescences may be either cauline or ramiflourous.
