In Orbignya palm forest, secondary growth, sandy whitish soil, dry, recently burned.

Description
Palm with stem 10 m. tall, dbh 40 cm.,14 contemporaneous leaves. Leaves pinnate, sheath ca 1 m., rachis 6.3 m. long with light green stripes on abaxial side. This has the only open flower seen in the area. Only a few fruits are ripe and falling. [See label for further plant description.]. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
