Small forest fragment (0.5 ha). Lower elevation sakau plantations mixed with small forest fragments (0.5 ha); Many weedy species (grasses, merremia). Clearings larger than forest fragments and mostly open canopy sakau plantings.

Description
Giant ferns, frond to 4 m +, growing i rosettes with 5-10 fronds; all pinnae fertile on frond; twice pinnate; base of secondray rachis swollen, 20+ secondary rachis off main stipe, 40+ pinnae along rachis, rachis 1m+.
