  • Description

    Scattering, forming loose irregular patches. Stems 2 to 3 m high; infrutescence 1 to 2 ft long; flowers delicate, ascending and suberect, 1 or 2 from each bract, the lower calyx segment spread out in front of the flower, the upper or lateral 2 segments strongly reflexed and bent back, all of the same yellowish white color; the 2 lateral or upper corolla segments strongly reflexed over the calyx segments, pink but with a pale white line through the middle toward the base; the lower corolla segment rigid, pinkish especially at the tip; style and stigma reddish; capsule obsurely trinagular, rugose, reddish, 1/2 in. thick, 2 in. long with numerous seeds. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
