Description
Palm 24 m tall,old trunk trunk 84 cm in circumference at 1 m from ground, leaves pinnate 5.9 m long, 216 pinnae. Flower spathe borne 17.65m from ground, 1.6 m long by 16 cm wide at center.

This tree will be cut down by local inhabitants as it does not bear anymore. Two months later these people will return and collect the insects that infest the rotting trunk, "mojojoi" (Calandra palmarum ?) to eat.
