Habitat
Unlogged forest on terra firme near recently opened unpaved access road. Some patches dominated by Guadua sarcocarpa; Tetragastris and Brosimum common. Clay soils.

Description
Tree. Tree 20m x 80cm, fruits pendent, pale green, each carpel to 16cm long. Outer bark gray, pitted, fissured, thin, inner bark reddish, brittle. USE: wood valued for making plywood. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
