Brazil. Acre. Santa Rosa do Purus Mun. Rio Chambuiacu, right-bank tributary of Rio Purus defining border with Peru. Water 1-2m below maximum, ca. 30m across at mouth but only 8m wide 3 km from mouth.

Habitat
Undulating terrain, forest regenerating from Guadua bamboo die-back several years ago. Canopy open, relatively few trees, dense understory, many vines and lianas. Poorly drained soils.

Description
Tree. Tree 18m x 50cm, trunk spiny, latex white. Fruits pendent, orange, ellipsoid, to 10cm long. Use: fruit edible. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
