  • Habitat

    Terra firme forest on high terrace. Very little presence of Guadua bamboo (and not so in recent memory).

  • Description

    Tree to 18 m, outer bark brownish-gray, relatively smooth but shed in large, irregular, thin plates. Inner bark red. Resin clear but quickly turning milky. Fruits maturing red. Use: Wood of preference for fires for smoking Hevea rubber. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
