    Species Description - Trailing or climbing, twining vine, to 10 m long, manybranched from base; stems cylindrical, slender, sparsely pubescent. Leaflets 2.5-7.5 x 1-5 cm, ovate or lanceolate, chartaceous, sparsely pubescent along veins, the apex acute, the base cuneate to rounded, the margins ciliate; petioles 3.5-9 cm long; petiolules ca. 3-2 mm long; stipules lanceolate, ca. 3 mm long. Racemes axillary, few-flowered, to 30 cm long. Calyx bell-shaped, 4-5 mm long; corolla yellow, the standard 1.5-2 cm long, nearly rounded, the wings and keel as long as the standard. Legume 5-7 x 0.5-0.7 cm, linear-oblong, slightly flattened, constricted between seeds. Seeds few, 5 mm long, oblong to square, reddish brown.

    A common coastal vine, sometimes in open disturbed areas. Enighed (A4005). Also on St. Croix, St. Thomas, and Tortola; throughout tropical and subtropical America.
