    Species Description - Herbaceous to semi woody vine, to 7 m long; stems twining, hexagonal, pubescent. Leaf blades 2-11 x 1.4-11 cm, cordiform, chartaceous, palmately 3(or 5)-veined from base, the upper surface puberulent, the lower surface pubescent to tomentose, glandular, the margins subentire to dentate; petioles to 7 cm long, those of same node commonly connected by a stipule-like appendage. Inflorescence a corymbiform panicle of many to numerous heads. Heads 7-9.3 mm long, often subtended by a broadly elliptic subinvolucral bract 3-4 mm long; involucre 5.5-8 x 1-2 mm; involucral bracts oblanceolate, the outer pair distinctly pubescent, the inner pair weakly puberulent; peduncles 2-7 mm long, pubescent. Corollas ca. 4-4.5 mm long, sparingly glandular, the throat bell-shaped, cleft to about middle into narrow lobes, these ca. 1.5 mm long. Achenes ca. 3.5 mm long, commonly puberulent and sparingly glandular; pappus to ca. 4.5 mm long, exserted from the involucre.
