    Species Description - Stems 1–4 dm; herbage persistently yellow-green; lvs linear-filiform, 1–2.5 cm; racemes developed on the lateral branches, but always short; pedicels mostly 1–2 times as long as the bracts, diverging at an angle of about 45°; cal-tube 2.2–3.2 mm, reticulate- veiny, the lobes broadly triangular, 0.7–1.3 mm; cor 1–1.5 cm, pink, with 2 yellow lines and some faint purple spots in the throat, the lobes emarginate or retuse; pollen-sacs 1.5–1.7 mm; fr subglobose, 4 mm; seeds yellow-brown; 2n=26. Sandy soil; e. Mass. to Md. Now rarely seen. (Gerardia a.)
