    Species Description - Rhizomatous perennial 8–15 dm; lvs often broadly linear, 3–5 cm, to 3 mm wide, gradually tapering; pedicels at anthesis 5–20 mm, very erect; cal-tube 3.5–5 mm, the lobes broadly subulate, 0.3–0.8 mm; cor 3–4 cm, without yellow marks; pollen-sacs 4 mm; fr subglobose, 6–7 mm; seeds brown-reticulate; 2n=28. Wet sandy soil on the coastal plain; Del. to Fla. and La. (Gerardia l.)
